Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands (BBBSCCI) helps children on the Cape and Islands reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one friendships with caring adult volunteers. BBBSCCI is a regional office of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay, one of the largest youth mentoring agencies in the country. 
 
If you are passionate about delivering quality human service, exceeding goals, and advocating in the community to generate goodwill, donors and volunteers, then you may be the perfect fit for the Program Director position available on Nantucket. The Program Director partners with an advisory board, represents and markets BBBSCCI in the community, builds strong relationships with donors to ensure adequate funding, promotes the Big Brothers Big Sisters program to attract and engage new volunteer mentors and youth who could benefit from the service, and is responsible for program and case management including enrolling adult volunteers and children, making matches, and supporting matches.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree (Master’s degree strongly preferred) and 4-6 years of experience in human or social services. Prior fundraising and budgeting experience required. Proven success in managing a high level and volume of interpersonal transactions. Familiarity with youth development, experience working with boys and girls, and familiarity with family dynamics and challenges. Proven ability to drive results through others and prior experience supervising and developing staff. Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office software, the Internet and databases.
 
Requirements and Abilities: 

Goal-oriented with excellent professional judgment, listening, communication and assessment skills.  Ability to work with a diverse pool of volunteers, parents, children and community members. Spanish/multiple language proficiency a plus. Ability to make high-level, persuasive presentations. Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, goal-oriented organization. Enthusiastic, high-energy, can-do attitude with positive sense of humor. Flexible, patient, collaborative with a strong sense of customer service. Must physically reside on Nantucket and have knowledge of local dynamics, community businesses and organizations, etc. Regular travel on and off island required. Must own a car, have Internet access at home, a cell phone and pass criminal background check. This position is often self-directed and works independently on a variety of topics.
