Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay seeks a Stewardship Intern to assist with ongoing development initiatives.  The Stewardship Intern will gain a deep understanding of non-profit donor relations, will be immersed in the cycle of giving, and will develop key professional communication skills.  The Stewardship Intern assists in the planning and execution of ongoing prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of unrestricted gifts from individual, corporate and foundation funding sources.  The Stewardship Intern will work with the Director of Annual Giving and the agency Grants Manager to:

 

  • Develop and implement individualized stewardship plans for individual, corporate and foundation donors.

 

  • Create printed collateral materials for use in cultivation/stewardship campaigns.

 

  • Create and maintain a calendar of stewardship activities for all identified donors.

 

  • Provide accurate and timely reporting and analysis on the implementation of all stewardship plans, and work with the Development Team to enhance and revise plans as needed.

 

  • Participate in Agency events and perform additional tasks assigned by the VP for Development, Senior Director of Development and/or President & CEO.

 

Requirements:

  • Availability to work at least 20-25 flexible hours per week for a 12-14 week period.
  • Goal driven Undergraduate or Graduate students; preferably Human Services or Social Work
  • Strong time-management, organizational, and research skills a must
  • Ability to self-motivate and stay on task

 

Compensation:

            Unpaid.  If applicable, the internship experience can be used for credit at your undergraduate or graduate institution.

This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the not-for-profit sector.  This is also a great chance to develop above-entry-level skills.
