Cocktail Reception - Dining - Dancing
BBBSMB’s largest fundraising event, Big Night 10, takes place on January 24, 2009 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Big Night, the annual, can’t-miss event has consistently been named "party of the year" by the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald. Each year guests come in costumes based on the night's theme, feast on fine cuisine and dance the night away to live music. Previous Big Night performers have included: The B-52’s, The Bangles, Blondie, Cheap Trick, Morris Day & The Time, Duran Duran, Earth Wind & Fire, Hall & Oates, Kool & the Gang, Ziggy Marley, and Meatloaf.
This year, join us for a nostalgic return to Woodstock! A night of peace, love, and music by the...

Fly Like an Eagle
Known for hits including Fly Like an Eagle, The Joker, Take the Money and Run and Rockin' Me, the Steve Miller Band was founded in 1966 in the Haight-Ashbury District of San Francisco. The Steve Miller Band played at the Monterrey Festival during the famed "Summer of Love" in 1967. This festival was the first of its kind and spawned Woodstock, voted by Rolling Stone Magazine as an event that forever changed rock and roll. 2009 is the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, so "Fly Like an Eagle" to Big Night and take a nostalgic journey with us... to an era when simple ideas like peace, love and music were all you needed.
What to Wear
Let your hair down, don a headband, put flowers in your hair, dig out your old tie-dyed shirt, fringed vest or halter top... the choise is yours. Big Night is your chance to let those inner hippies, flower children, or bohemians run free for a night. Maybe you prefer to channel one of the many legendary rock stars like Jimi, Janis, Jerry or Joan who performed at Woodstock? Perhaps you feel like making a statement? Then come as a member of the "counter culture" a la Abbie Hoffman. Whatever floats your boat, because for one night we are living in the Age of Aquarius.
